Finn Clarke

Finn recently scored the ABC/PBS documentary The Platypus Guardian, AIDC ‘Best Short-Form Documentary’ winner Eden Alone Surpasses Thee, and four works for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s RLO educational resource. He is the 2023 Regional Screen in LA Scholarship recipient, where he was chosen from applicants across Australia to spend six weeks developing his career in Los Angeles, supported by funding and industry networks from Screenworks and Australians in Film. Finn is also a founding member of the Tasmanian Media Composers Collective, where he hosts local and international industry guests to share their expertise with the Tasmanian screen community. 

Finn grew up with diverse musical influences, playing violin in orchestras, fiddle in folk bands and electric violin in an EDM duo. He blends this with his classical composition studies (UTAS Conservatorium of Music) and experience in location sound recording (Deadloch, Bay of Fires, Muster Dogs) to compose story-driven scores that fuse nuanced orchestrations, emotive melodies, and experimental sound design and synthesis.

In his spare time, Finn likes to hike, windsurf and pat cats.
