This works is part of a set of four short pieces that Elizabeth composed sometime before 2012 to showcase locations around lutruwita/Tasmania that had meaning for her. (The others being The Hazards, Coles Bay; The Tarn Shelf; and Salamanca Market)
The inspiration for this piece was gnarled-looking trees, the swell of the sea, and bird calls.
Sisters Beach is a locality and small town located in the Waratah-Wynyard municipality of North- West Tasmania. It is located within the Rocky Cape National Park. Its beach is that of exceptionally white sand approximately three kilometres long.
Banksia serrata (a native Tasmanian Banksia) is prevalent in this area.
