This work was commissioned by Elizabeth Wade for a performance by Jeffrey Crellin in association with a dance sequence in an interpretation of the haiku.
COOLNESS
‘How very cool it feels Taking a noon-day nap, To have A wall against my heels!’
The haiku was written by Matsuo Bashō, (1644-1694), who was the most famous poet from the Edo
Period in Japan.
